MILE A MINUTE PROJECT OF THE HUDSON VALLEY:
Mile-a-Minute is an invasive vine that (as its name suggests) grows remarkably fast and chokes out native wildlife. This plant became a concern for several northeastern states in 2009, hence the inception of the Mile-a-Minute program in the Hudson Valley. We have been using monitoring and biocontrol techniques to track and stop the spread of this invader.
Although we have already identified a number of sites in which Mile-a-Minute is a problem, our best defense against its proliferation is reports from citizens. The homeowners of your community may already be experiencing a problem with this vine on their property.
