TO ALL TOWN RESIDENTS:  Beginning January 1, 2012 a new law pertaining to the disposal of electronic waste such as television sets, monitors, computers, cell phones, lap tops, etc. went into effect.  According to the law, the local garbage hauler can no longer pick up these items.  Residents can drop these items off at the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority (RCSWMA) Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility located at Fireman's Drive, Pomona, NY or they can be brought to various manufacturer's registered drop off locations.  Please visit the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's website at http://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/65583.html or contact the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority at 845-753-2200 for further information.
